  A Good Pool Cleaner That Costs Less to Run and Maintain

  Updated note after 20 months of using the robot:The robot had to be shipped to close-by city for repairing three times, and it cost about $20 for each shipment.The last repair required three items to be replaced: motor; cord from low impedance; and track from loosen part. Only the first item is covered by the two-year warranty. To replace the other two items would cost about $300, and I choose not to repair them.It is so difficult to find a reliable pool robot in the market. Most of them last for only about two years. I reduced its rating to three stars because of those repairs.Updated note after three months of using the robot: It could not move after three months. However, the customer service was helpful to help diagnose the problem and asked me to ship it to Dallas for repair. It cost me $18 to ship from Houston, and the robot was returned in one week under working condition. Thanks to its two-years warranty instead of 90-days.   DO NOT BUY THIS POS!!!

  The machine, when it runs, works prety good however it is ALWAYS BROKEN!! I have had to send this machine back 4 times now costing me $35 each time. The last time I sent it back, they wanted me to pay to have it shipped back to me!! I had to call and argue with several people until they eventually paid for the shipping back to me.   Good product when it works, but terrible warranty support

  I performed a lot of research to find the best pool cleaner at an above average cost. I purchased this product locally thinking that I'd get better service. The result - good product when it works, terrible service from Smartpool when it doesn't.I've had the product 1 year (2010) and although it worked well the first year, it was popping wheelies when we put it in the pool in 2011.April 11 - sent it inMay 24 - receivedMay 25 - sent it back - same problemJune - supposed to be shipped last week, just got notice that it will ship sometime this week.Bottom line - nightmare. 1/5 D.   Thought I loved this pool cleaner...

  A month after I received this unit, I wrote the following:I just got the Nitro Wall Climber a few days ago to replace my Polaris 360. My pool has never looked so good! I would recommend this to anyone with an inground pool. It was delivered promptly, was easy to assemble and use, and in the first 3-hour cleaning cycle made my pool look better than I have ever seen it. It climbed all of the walls and even removed a small amount of yellow algae that had just started to show up on one wall.It climbs all the way to the waterline, seems to know when to back up, pop a wheelie to get off of the drain, and cleans everything very well.It does not climb stairs, but then neither did my Polaris, nor has any other that I have heard of, so as far as I am concerned this is as good as it gets!I have now owned this cleaner for 1 1/2 years, with 6 months of that time in the winter, when it was used maybe 1 time a month.   Works very well. No clogs, No jambs. Just cleans. Love it!

  They is a diamond amoungst a bunch of glass. I have had them all. Polaris, Krawley and other Hayward junk. Hayward should stick to pumps and filters. This one I thought would be no better. I have been running the Nitro for 12 months. I was wary as it looked to flimsy but it works like crazy. My pool has never been cleaned so well. I have some redwoods that the neighbors have that drop their very spikey needles and my own Texas Umbrellas (China Berry) which are in full fall with the long stick type of leaf stems. And it cleans the china berry's themselves that the squirrels cut in half and litter the pool with this time of year. All of it gets sucked in and devoured. Cleaning it out is easy and no clogs in the suck holes. No wimmpy jambs in the wings. No breaking of the mechanism. I am delighted. My only cavaets are they didn't use stainless on some of the inside screws which I replaced. The bag which I thought wasn't so tough is. No holes or damage after a year. 5/5 Gary B.   Great Perfomance for the Price!

  I Have owned more expensive units costing 1000-1400. I took my chance on this one. At first the unit would not climb, then it just stopped working. I must say at first I was disappointed, so I returned it to the Manufacturer for a replacement. The new one worked fantastic! It climbs walls doesn't scrub the water line but will clean up to it. That is not a problem for me, as non of the other models did a great at this. It does a great job on the bottom and cleans the deep end as well as the shallow end. Will not climb stairs, but don't get hung up on that, none of the previous models did a good job at that either.The unit is able to go up the steep grade in my pool were other models I have owned would fall back down to the deep end. In addition, it has a great feature: if it senses that it is stuck- like on the pickup drains on the bottom, it will pop a wheely and navigate out of its stuck position.   Great for the price

  I bought this cleaner two seasons ago. It has worked pretty well within expectations. They'll tell you that this cleaner doesn't climb walls. Well it does. the problem is it doesn't know how to get back down. It will often climb a wall and get stuck, forcing me to keep an eye on it and pull it down. Can be frustrating at times. If it spends too much time stuck on the wall, you might need two cycles to get the pool clean. Well worth the price compared to other robotic cleaners. Cleaning the walls is wayyyy overrated anyway.   Will clean out your wallet

  It will not last. Electric components are made in China. Parts are too expensive to replace. Throwing your money in the pool and letting the skimmer suck it up would be the same.   I previously owned Aquabots the Kleen-Machine was very impressive when I first bought it However just before the warranty was due to expire I started having problems. Although the repair was done with little hassle it was not the same as when it was new. I wanted a couple of little parts not covered under warranty replaced at the same time but decided not to once I found out that you can't buy the part that is perishable you have to buy the entire assembly which is extremely overpriced.   excellent pool bottom debris vacuum

  I purchased this device because I have a problem with debris in the bottom of the pool, and I wanted something that did not require connection to the pool filtration system.In the past I used a pool shark that was only effective when powered by the water pressure generated by the pool filter pump at its highest speed. Rather than continue to pay the electric bill penalty for sweeping the pool with water pressure, I opted to get an electric powered sweep.I read the reviews on this product and hesitated to get this model, but I decided to give it a shot anyway. So far, so good.The device works as expected. During it's two-hour period of operation, it manages to cover all of the area of the pool where debris accumulates. (I have trees that overhang the pool and a lot of blowing sand in the air.) The exceptions are the steps in the shallow end and a submerged bench beneath the waterfall.   Stopped working on the 5th cleaning ....

  So you know the expression "you should listen to your gut"? After reading previous reviews, I should have listened to my gut. Bought this cleaner because it was 200 to 300 cheaper than other pool cleaners with similar functionality. Should have spent the extra dough. The first four cleanings were decent and I was amazed at how it worked. Then on run number 5 ..... just sits there and bobs but doesn't crawl. So now, I've got to go through the effort of sending it back to SmartKleen and I'm wondering what kind of service support I'm gonna get. If it is like the product quality .... I'm back to a dirty pool bottom for a while. Wish I could get a refund, but I guess I have no choice.   Worth every second I don't need to vacuum by hand

  I've had the older version of this unit for two full swimming seasons. Previous to that, I had a series of $1000+ machines, none of which lasted me a full two seasons--nevermind what the warranties say--good luck trying to get anywhere with that. I'm not rich, but I just chalked it up as an annual expense that saved me having to spend hours each week vacuuming my pool. This unit does not climb walls, but that's not a huge issue in my situation--it probably would do some if there were gentle curved transitions (mine are 90), but I actually want it to spend more of the cycle time picking up floor debris rather than scrubbing the walls (as the wall-climbers did). I got my original one at Costco and was disappointed as I didn't see it carried there anymore. A few weeks ago my machine started acting up and I thought I needed to replace it but it turned out to be a quick fix in the loose plug and I'm back in business, but I almost want to buy another one just to have for backup.
