    Love the simplicity

With so many things to maintain for a pool already, the last thing I want to do is to maintain an automatic pool cleaner. If I have to replace belts, tracks, booster pumps, and so on, then I might as well spend that time with an old fashioned pole vacuum instead. Before I bought this T-Jet I had a tough time deciding between the Polaris series, T-Jet, and the Turbo T2 model.I ended up buying the T-Jet because of the simplicity with so few moving parts that can break. I'm happy with the decision. The T-Jet cleans the pool crystal clear. But to get the best performance, first I had to make some adjustments to the setup out of the box. So here are some tips. The settings on the T-Jet when it first arrives are for impressing you with the speed in which the water jets propel it across the pool - to maximize the water flow but not maximizing the cleaning potential. The changes I made were the following: 1. snap on the intake extender so that the suction port is... 5/5 D. Coral - See all my reviews, July 17, 2009

    Almost Perfect

**Update: After a year of use, I'd still give it a 4 star rating. Over the past year, I never had to clean the filter cartridges on my pool. All the dirt and debris that usually went into the filter cartridges got vacuumed up by the robot. I also never had to vacuum the pool using a vacuum head connected to by pool's filtration system. This spring my pool was a mess with dirt and leaf debris. I put in the robot with the leaf bag and several hours later all the debris was vacuumed up. Then I switched to the fine filter bag and a few hours later had a pristine looking pool again. For the money, this has been a great purchase. **Before I bought the turbo, I was cleaning my pool using a conventional vacuum head on a pole that was connected to my filter system. It would take me at least 30 minutes to move the vacuum back and forth across the entire pool to clean it. I have a cartridge filter system so all that dirt I vacuumed up just went into the filter. At times I would have... 4/5 J. Weber (Texas) - See all my reviews, June 21, 2009

It climbs walls and gets out of deep ends ... with floatation adjustment

There are essentially three types of automatic pool cleaner: pressure side, e.g. Polaris, suction side, e.g. Kreepy Krauly, and robotic pool cleaner, e.g. Aquabot. I assume that you have gone through the pros and cons of them and decide that you want to get a robotic pool cleaner. If you have not, I suggest you find reviews on the web to see which one is best for your pool.I chose Turbo T-Jet because it is the least expensive of all models, and it doesn't have a lot of parts to possibly go wrong (belts, motors). It has only one motor. That motor sucks water through a filter bag and also propells the cleaner forward.1. Effectiveness: It is quite effective for the area it goes through. It comes with two filter bags: mesh one for big leaves and debris and fine one for sand and silt. I use the fine one all the time. It picks up tiny sand and even algae.2. Clean time: It goes random paths and has no clues about where is covered and where is not. I found that... 4/5 Pete Chen (East Bay, CA) - See all my reviews, August 22, 2010

    junior is awesome

I have cared for my pool the cheap way for 12 years (no service company). I have intermittently used a free creepy crawler or a polaris with fair results and lots of messing with/untalnging those cleaners. So I had decided this year I was going to treat myself. My dad had an aquabot for 5 or 6 years, so I was familiar with the product. I favored the junior model as it seemed less of everything: less cost, less features to break and less weight. (Junior is about half the weight of the regular aquabot). My pool is 18x32 with steps and AQJ cleans it 95% perfectly. I do have to hit the steps and a couple of tight corners, but overall my brush time is 10% of what it was, and I will never net or vacuum again. My filter time is down by about 1/3. I am hopeful that backwashing will be decreased as well. I run junior every three or four days as needed. I do wish I had bought a second bag at the time so I could just rotate them. The vendor was "in the... 5/5 cheappoolguy - See all my reviews This review is from: Aqua Products ABJR Aquabot Junior In-Ground Robotic Pool Cleaner (Lawn & Patio) I have cared for my pool the cheap way for 12 years (no service company). Pretty decent. Doesn't climb walls.

I bought this as my first pool robot after years of cleaning the pool by hand -- a task I liked just about as much as ironing and painting. I never wanted to spend the money on one of these but I finally bit the bullet and did it.The first comment is WOW my pool is so clean! Maybe the claims that they really save you all this money because you can run your filter less are at least partly true. So, why only 3 stars? Well, the product is advertised as being able to climb walls (or was when I bought it). It gets about 1/3 of the way up the wall but that's it. I really wanted it to clean up to the water line. We use this at a second home where we sometimes are gone for some time and return to have to spend a long time cleaning the pool to get it ready and this just didn't do what I thought it would.I returned this item for the reasons above but having now tried a second Aquabot product... 3/5 Gregory P. Greatest pool cleaner invention yet!

This Aquabot Junior pool cleaner is really a true pool cleaner - it cleans the bottom, the walls, and even the steps. It doesn't get hung up in corners or anywhere else in your pool. The filter bag will hold everything from bobby pins, leaves, bugs, algae, and sand - and other undesirable disgusting stuff.Just put it in the pool plug it in and forget it!The only negative comment is that cleaning the filter bag can be somewhat disgusting since the unit picks up just about everything. I turn mine inside out, shake out what I can, and then put the bag on a flat surface and the use a hose to spray away the remainder. This can take a while but remember what you are washing away is what other pool cleaners simply blow back into your pool. The Aquabot Jr. Wall Scrubber Robotic Pool Cleaner pool cleaner cleans so well I no longer have had to vacuum the pool. Great White 9500 Pool Cleaner

I was looking for a low priced efficient auto pool cleaner to replace my ever-dying, undependable, expensive to repair Hayward Navigator. Reading the reviews of the GW9500 on Amazon, it seemed that only 1/3 of the reviewers were dissatisfied with the performance of the GW.I found it on Ebay for 289.00, w/free shipping and a 50.00 rebate from Pentair; so I took a 240.00 chance.Connected the hoses, dumped the GW9500 in the pool, then turned the pump on. It was that easy. I have a screen enclosed kidney shaped pool 30x16 with 6ft depth, gunite pool with no swim outs, three steps in the shallow end and a ladder in the deeper end. The pool is spotless, the GW9500 never gets stuck, evenly cleans, and it scours the walls like a Catfish. I leave it in the pool and it cleans with each cycle of the pool pump. All I do is add chemicals to the pool; the GW9500 does the rest. Worthy of mention, I fired my pool service that charged 95.00 a month.Update 05/26/2011: Still... 5/5 wavecat (USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Pentair GW9500 Kreepy Krauly Great White Inground Pool Cleaner (Lawn & Patio) I was looking for a low priced efficient auto pool cleaner to replace my ever-dying, undependable, expensive to repair Hayward Navigator. Great pool cleaner!

I bought this after my Hayward Navigator died, mainly because it cost half as much and it was the least expensive in-ground cleaner that people seem to be happy with from what I can see on the Internet. After using it I found that it is really a great cleaner. It seems to be especially resistant to jamming compared to the Navigator, which would get small pebbles or twigs caught in it's turbine. It comes with some nice translucent hose sections which seem more flexible than what I get a the pool store. It also has an adapter for a dedicated cleaner port (if you have one) a telepole attachment so that it can be used manually and a flow gauge. It does clean the shallow end of my pool and seems especially good at scrubbing the walls. It does occasionally get stuck on the pool light (of all places)The manual does not say that it is not designed to clean the shallow end. It does say that it will spend most of it's time is the deep end, but that is... 5/5 Amazon Customer - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great for pools that get lots of leaves

I purchased the Pentair Great White two months ago. I made my purchase after reading the reviews on Amazon for several pool cleaners. They were tremendously helpful in making the right choice. I am repaying what I owe by sharing what I've learned. We have a tough pool. I maintain it myself because pool guys take one look and quote an outrageous price. We live at the very northern end of the Los Angeles basin, nestled against the mountains that form the basin's northern border. It's a beautiful place to live, but several times a year the Santa Ana winds come, and during those times, the pool needs attention every day. Our property is ringed by eight huge pines that are beautiful and I would never dream of cutting down, but when the winds come, our pool fills up with pine needles first, then pine pellets a couple of weeks later. The winds also scrape dirt off the bare spots in the mountains and dump it in the pool. One day's wind is enough to turn the blue bottom... 5/5 Bob from LA (Jefferson, GA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) Like many people I struggled to make a decision between this model and competitive models that offer similar functionality. I decided to go with the Polaris 9300 Sport because it was getting good reviews from other buyers on Amazon, and it seemed to have some advantages going for it that other models did not. I don't typically write reviews but this is an expensive purchase and other reviews were key in my decision making so I wanted to help other people out who are having a tough time making a decision. So here are my initial pros/cons, after 5 or 6 runs of the cleaner:Pros:1) Unlike some other units I was interested in (such as the Aquabot T4) this unit is less expensive and comes with a cart (vs. it being an optional accessory). I didn't think I'd care about the cart but I have to say it makes moving the robot to/from my garage very easy. Works as advertised. Easy to maintain

I've had this for 3 months now (see current updates below) and have used it at least once a week. It works as advertised and is easy to use and maintain. One reviewer said it was "horrendous" but provided no details. Maybe they got a bad copy? If so, they should contact Polaris about it. I talked with them (on the phone, a US based rep, without waiting long) about their guarantee, which is for 2 years, better than most, and they told me they usually send a technician out to look at it. He also said that since this is an important product for Polaris, their first robotic cleaner in the US, (which, by the way, has been sold in other parts of the world for several years before they brought it to the US market) they want to make sure they are aware of any issues and fix them right away. I have never owned a robotic or other form of automatic pool cleaner, so I have nothing to compare it to. Assembling this product consists mainly of the portable storage rack that comes with it. The only Pool Robot that Works FINAL UPDATE

I have just purchased the Polaris 9300 Sport to replace a real piece of crap Aquabot Turbo TRC that I purchased and returned on Amazon.com. Still waiting for my full refund so we'll see what happens...The 9300 is a really good product. It cleans well and does what the ad says it will do...unlike the POS Aquabot with it's toy train remote control, (what a rip off!), and impossible bag design. The 9300 does the job and the cartridge filter is very easy to clean and return to the bot for another trip around the pool. It scrubs the walls and waterline well and is very convienient to use. Includes a nice caddy to hold everything as well.I shopped around for about a month before I took a chance on the Aquabot and was extremely sorry I did. All the reviews say the Aquabot is so great...but who are these people? Aquabot sales maybe? All I know is I bought the POS and it was horrible and everything in the ads were lies. Cleaner than I can clean myself!

What's in the box?RobotCaddyExtra filterRemote controlSetupIt took about 10-15 minutes to set this up. Assembly involved putting the caddy together. The caddy is plastic and has rubber lined wheels. It's durable and solid for what it's made of. Wheeling it from storage to the outlet is definitely much easier. It has a space for the control panel, AC plug, the robot, the rubber hose and the remote control.UseFirst time setting up requires getting the brushes wet. Once that is accomplished you place the robot into the pool, and you push the power button. Options include 1, 2, and 3 hour clean times, as well as manual control through the wireless remote. I controlled the robot with the remote, and it was quite responsive. I believe its purpose is for spot cleaning.I proceeded to set it for a programmed time to clean our pool. Good value

0 4/5 Steph - See all my reviews This review is from: Pentair 360032 Kreepy Krauly Prowler 830 Robotic Inground Pool Cleaner with 60 Foot Cord (Lawn & Patio) We recently bought this robot for our pool. For the price & rebate from pentair it was a good buy. Cartridge filter, comes with the caddy, & even has a remote. My husband says the filters are easy to access and clean. Overall, I like it a lot. I haven't seen the robot reach the water line, but he does the bottoms and sides well. And the robot is plastic so I do worry a little about longevity. But for the price, this was a good buy and I'd recommend it. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , July 2, 2013

16,000 Pebble Tec pool in Arizona is spotless, thanks to Prowler 830 from Pentair.

We used to have an old Dolphin Diagnostics cleaner. It did a decent job removing derbies, but it was such a pain to clean it. Instead of filters, our Dolphin had some cloth bag (I called it grannie's underwear) which was extremely difficult to remove, clean and put back. I was postponing this task every time. Finally, the rollers on our old unit shifted and needed to be replaced. I assessed the situation and decided to invest into a better product.Thankfully, Pentair has removable filters which are very easy to manipulate. I can now clean them after each use, really takes 5 minutes for me to do so. The system is brilliant. We have 16,000 Pebble Tec pool. It is rectangular in shape with rounded corners. Our biggest problem is random little leaves from the trees and a lot of dust (Arizona). We use ultra-fine filters (supplied with the unit) and Prowler 830 does a remarkable job cleaning our pool. After 2 weeks of cleaning my husband announced that he never saw our pool so... 5/5 Angela Clark (AZ USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?)
