    Excellent Cleaner

I have been using the Dolphin Nautilus for about 2 months now and so far been completely satisfied. This cleaner comes with 2 different types of removable screens that trap the dirt from the pool. One is for heavy leaf and debris pick up while the other is more for finer particulates. They are very easy to remove, clean, and reinstall. I actually prefer this type as opposed to the "bag" type I had been accustomed to using. The power cord is a little longer than other robotic cleaners I have used and seems to not twist up in knots. The cleaner completely removes dirt from my pool (20' X 40'inground) in about 2 hours. Rarely it might miss a small leaf or two but for the most part does an excellent job. It will also climb the walls preventing any dirt or algae buildup. The pump that makes the water flow through its filtration system appears to be quite strong. When the cleaner is in the shallow end you can really see the water rippling the surface of the water. The power supply has a... 5/5 Kman90 (Jamesburg, NJ USA) - See all my reviews I have been using the Dolphin Nautilus for about 2 months now and so far been completely satisfied. Love the simplicity

With so many things to maintain for a pool already, the last thing I want to do is to maintain an automatic pool cleaner. If I have to replace belts, tracks, booster pumps, and so on, then I might as well spend that time with an old fashioned pole vacuum instead. Before I bought this T-Jet I had a tough time deciding between the Polaris series, T-Jet, and the Turbo T2 model.I ended up buying the T-Jet because of the simplicity with so few moving parts that can break. I'm happy with the decision. The T-Jet cleans the pool crystal clear. But to get the best performance, first I had to make some adjustments to the setup out of the box. So here are some tips. The settings on the T-Jet when it first arrives are for impressing you with the speed in which the water jets propel it across the pool - to maximize the water flow but not maximizing the cleaning potential. The changes I made were the following: 1. snap on the intake extender so that the suction port is... 5/5 FlyingPolarBear (Fullerton, CA USA) - See all my reviews, July 17, 2009

    Almost Perfect

**Update: After a year of use, I'd still give it a 4 star rating. Over the past year, I never had to clean the filter cartridges on my pool. All the dirt and debris that usually went into the filter cartridges got vacuumed up by the robot. I also never had to vacuum the pool using a vacuum head connected to by pool's filtration system. This spring my pool was a mess with dirt and leaf debris. I put in the robot with the leaf bag and several hours later all the debris was vacuumed up. Then I switched to the fine filter bag and a few hours later had a pristine looking pool again. For the money, this has been a great purchase. **Before I bought the turbo, I was cleaning my pool using a conventional vacuum head on a pole that was connected to my filter system. It would take me at least 30 minutes to move the vacuum back and forth across the entire pool to clean it. I have a cartridge filter system so all that dirt I vacuumed up just went into the filter. At times I would have... 4/5 J. Weber (Texas) - See all my reviews, June 21, 2009

There was no model I reviewed, that had 100% great reviews. I was quite disappointed in not finding one particular brand within the range of $500 to $3000 where the customers were completely satisfied with the product... In all of the reviews I read, the customers were happy for the first three months. All of the customers I read that had the product 4 months or longer, regardless of the model, brand, and price... Very good cleaner, It works well, poolman review

Customer Video Review Length:: 4:40 MinsFirst, you must have a separate pump plumbed in for the Polaris cleaner or you cannot install this cleaner. It needs it's own pump to work off the pressure (return) side of the pool verse the suction (skimmer/side port) side.I have several customers with these cleaners installed (Two with Polaris 180 models which means that after 15 years they are still working fine) and all work off the same principal. The Polaris pump sends high pressure to the line the Polaris is attached to spinning the wheels and moving the cleaner. Every few minutes the Backup valve activates and reverses the cleaner (prevents it from getting stuck in one area). These cleaners work well if they are set up correctly. Here are some troubleshooting tips:Hose length is important. Too much hose and the cleaner will not work properly. The Back-up Valve must be installed 14-20 inches from the cleaner and the water opening (where water shoots out... 4/5 Dave CR "Dave" (California) - See all my reviews, February 4, 2012

After receiveing the $85 quote to repair my aging Polaris cleaner I knew it was time for a new one. With all the incentives on the 380 or 3900 I was going to go with the 380 which was actually cheaper (after incentives) than the 280 but I started asking around - mostly pool professionals - and all (8 for 8) recommeneded the 280 even if the price were higher. We are happy with the purchase and I was able to save over $100 by buying off Amazon vs. any retail store. There were a few other online sites where it was $15-$20 cheaper but didn't have the reputation or # of stars. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , September 20, 2009

Experience of 280 as compared with 380 and 3900

I have a 22,000 gal pool and have owned the 280, 380 and now the 3900 over the past 10 years. The 280 lasted 7+ years; I replaced it with the 380 and after 1-1/2 years of trying to get it to clean as good as the previous cleaner, I finally gave up and turned to the 3900. The 3900 has been in service now for about 1-1/2 years. The 3900 is a decent cleaner but the thing is like the quintessential Ferrari, runs great while it is running, but requires constant maintenance and tuning. Looking back, nothing cleans like that ole' 280. I recently spoke with 1) my original pool designer, 2) a neighbor who is an award winning pool designer, and 3) an experienced pool installer/maintainer that I have come to trust implicitly (I have worked with several, this guy is on top of his game). All three aforementioned sources wholeheartedly agreed that the 280 just cannot be beat by any of today's available cleaners. The simplicity and cleaning efficiency are unmatched. Nice Upgrade. Works Well!

I have had this unit for 2 weeks after replacing an original Aquabot unit that I had for 12 years. The Tigershark unit operates very different from the Aquabot unit, making frequent turns and changes in direction. This unit also moves a lot faster than the Aquabot and is a lot easier to clean. I have only used it in "Full Clean" mode and it does an adequate job (sometimes I have to run it twice, but so what). Unit climbs the walls to the waterline and doesn't get stuck on either of my 2 main drains, which seemed to be where my Aquabot lived. I like that the unit shuts off after the estimated cleaning period. Cleaning the filters, once you get the hang of it, is much easier than the Aquabot bag and putting the botton unit back in is a snap. The Aquabot unit that I had worked well, although I had to replace parts every 3-4 years. The Tigershark seems like the next technological upgrade to that pool cleaner, and costs only $100-$200 more than the Aquabot replacement. If I... 5/5 T. Not the machine I expected

The Tigershark QC was highly recommended by a friend who has had good experiences. Thus far, two weeks or so after opening the box and getting the Tigershark into the pool, I am disappointed. I have a full size pool, 18 x 38 as I recall (I haven't measured it in years) with a deep end. This machine will not clean your entire pool, not in 1 three hour cycle, or in 3 three hour cycles. It will get to 2/3, maybe 3/4 of the pool in that time. It will only occasionally climb a wall, so you will have to brush the sides, not a big job, but a job I did not expect to have. It will run right over and not pick up full size leaves ( there were only a handful in the entire pool - I was not expecting anything extraordinary) I have not had anything on the Tigershark break yet, but the bottom latch and filter cartridge, which must be handled often in order to clean the filters, feel flimsy. The plastic is thin, and feels brittle. It would be easy to break either part. This is not an inexpensive... 3/5 Harold - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Good Robot, but not Perfect

Okay, so what robot is perfect? I used to have an Aquabot (Still have it). I used the Aquabot last year, and I remember not being happy. I had to work on the motor, the bags were a hassle, and I remember it only staying in the deep-end. So I bought the TigerShark. I put the TigerShark in the pool, and it moved around as expected, but when it got to the water-line it began to such air and then fell off the wall. It comes with a flow restrictor, that is very easy to put on. I put it on, and the robot didn't suck air, but did not go down the wall gracefully. However, it seems to cover the pool well. Not perfect, but most of the pool (90 something percent). He will even go up on the stairs, but not often enough (maybe 10% of the stair surface). I though about returning the robot, but he is so easy to clean. I am thinking that I can let him clean, then brush the pool, and let him clean again.BTW, the Aquabot has gotten much better since the TigerShark has arrived. It seems to... 4/5 Robert D. Works well. but which one?

I've been taking care of my pool and buying stuff for it for several decades. In that time I've had a number of automated cleaners, so the question is how do you choose one. Note that all of them are expensive, but the range of price is large, so what do you get for more or less money.First off, my preference is strongly for the self contained corded units. I've owned the barracuda type cleaner and polaris types that are dependent on suction from your skimmer or external pump. When you most need them, when the pool is really dirty, the suction is least reliable. The hoses are also bulky and a nuisance to deal with.If you look at the range of Aquabot cleaners you will see price ranges for in ground cleaners from $300 up to $2000 and more. This unit is now my 3rd Aquabot (so yes I like them, but yes they don't last all that long). So I had decided this year I was going to treat myself. My dad had an aquabot for 5 or 6 years, so I was familiar with the product. I do have to hit the steps and a couple of tight corners, but overall my brush time is 10% of what it was, and I will never net or vacuum again. My filter time is down by about 1/3. Pretty decent. Doesn't climb walls.

I bought this as my first pool robot after years of cleaning the pool by hand -- a task I liked just about as much as ironing and painting. I never wanted to spend the money on one of these but I finally bit the bullet and did it.The first comment is WOW my pool is so clean! Maybe the claims that they really save you all this money because you can run your filter less are at least partly true. So, why only 3 stars? Well, the product is advertised as being able to climb walls (or was when I bought it). It gets about 1/3 of the way up the wall but that's it. I really wanted it to clean up to the water line. This review is from: Aqua Products ABJR Aquabot Junior In-Ground Robotic Pool Cleaner (Lawn & Patio) I bought this as my first pool robot after years of cleaning the pool by hand -- a task I liked just about as much as ironing and painting. Greatest pool cleaner invention yet!

This Aquabot Junior pool cleaner is really a true pool cleaner - it cleans the bottom, the walls, and even the steps. It doesn't get hung up in corners or anywhere else in your pool. The filter bag will hold everything from bobby pins, leaves, bugs, algae, and sand - and other undesirable disgusting stuff.Just put it in the pool plug it in and forget it!The only negative comment is that cleaning the filter bag can be somewhat disgusting since the unit picks up just about everything. I turn mine inside out, shake out what I can, and then put the bag on a flat surface and the use a hose to spray away the remainder. This can take a while but remember what you are washing away is what other pool cleaners simply blow back into your pool. The Aquabot Jr. Wall Scrubber Robotic Pool Cleaner pool cleaner cleans so well I no longer have had to vacuum the pool. I'm somewhat handicapped and this thing is the next best thing since the battery powered scooter... 5/5 Amazon Customer - See all my reviews This Aquabot Junior pool cleaner is really a true pool cleaner - it cleans the bottom, the walls, and even the steps. Great White 9500 Pool Cleaner

I was looking for a low priced efficient auto pool cleaner to replace my ever-dying, undependable, expensive to repair Hayward Navigator. Reading the reviews of the GW9500 on Amazon, it seemed that only 1/3 of the reviewers were dissatisfied with the performance of the GW.I found it on Ebay for 289.00, w/free shipping and a 50.00 rebate from Pentair; so I took a 240.00 chance.Connected the hoses, dumped the GW9500 in the pool, then turned the pump on. It was that easy. I have a screen enclosed kidney shaped pool 30x16 with 6ft depth, gunite pool with no swim outs, three steps in the shallow end and a ladder in the deeper end. The pool is spotless, the GW9500 never gets stuck, evenly cleans, and it scours the walls like a Catfish. I leave it in the pool and it cleans with each cycle of the pool pump. All I do is add chemicals to the pool; the GW9500 does the rest. Worthy of mention, I fired my pool service that charged 95.00 a month.Update 05/26/2011: Still... 5/5 wavecat (USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Pentair GW9500 Kreepy Krauly Great White Automatic Pool Cleaner for In-Ground Pools, Grey/Black (Lawn & Patio) I was looking for a low priced efficient auto pool cleaner to replace my ever-dying, undependable, expensive to repair Hayward Navigator. Great pool cleaner!

I bought this after my Hayward Navigator died, mainly because it cost half as much and it was the least expensive in-ground cleaner that people seem to be happy with from what I can see on the Internet. After using it I found that it is really a great cleaner. It seems to be especially resistant to jamming compared to the Navigator, which would get small pebbles or twigs caught in it's turbine. It comes with some nice translucent hose sections which seem more flexible than what I get a the pool store. It also has an adapter for a dedicated cleaner port (if you have one) a telepole attachment so that it can be used manually and a flow gauge. It does clean the shallow end of my pool and seems especially good at scrubbing the walls. It does occasionally get stuck on the pool light (of all places)The manual does not say that it is not designed to clean the shallow end. It does say that it will spend most of it's time is the deep end, but that is... 5/5 Amazon Customer - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great for pools that get lots of leaves

I purchased the Pentair Great White two months ago. I made my purchase after reading the reviews on Amazon for several pool cleaners. They were tremendously helpful in making the right choice. I am repaying what I owe by sharing what I've learned. We have a tough pool. I maintain it myself because pool guys take one look and quote an outrageous price. We live at the very northern end of the Los Angeles basin, nestled against the mountains that form the basin's northern border. It's a beautiful place to live, but several times a year the Santa Ana winds come, and during those times, the pool needs attention every day. Our property is ringed by eight huge pines that are beautiful and I would never dream of cutting down, but when the winds come, our pool fills up with pine needles first, then pine pellets a couple of weeks later. The winds also scrape dirt off the bare spots in the mountains and dump it in the pool. One day's wind is enough to turn the blue bottom... 5/5 Bob from LA (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) A Good Pool Cleaner That Costs Less to Run and Maintain

Updated note after 20 months of using the robot:The robot had to be shipped to close-by city for repairing three times, and it cost about $20 for each shipment. The last repair required three items to be replaced: motor; cord from low impedance; and track from loosen part. Only the first item is covered by the two-year warranty. To replace the other two items would cost about $300, and I choose not to repair them.It is so difficult to find a reliable pool robot in the market. Most of them last for only about two years. I reduced its rating to three stars because of those repairs.Updated note after three months of using the robot: It could not move after three months. However, the customer service was helpful to help diagnose the problem and asked me to ship it to Dallas for repair. It cost me $18 to ship from Houston, and the robot was returned in one week under working condition. Thanks to its two-years warranty instead of 90-days. Really does the job

If you read my review of the Aqua Turbo, you will see that it started out great and ended up being really poor. The cost of repair is obscene. So, here we start out a new review, after the Aqua Turbo burned out it's second motor, a $700+ repair with shipping costs. The Triton runs circles around the Aqua Turbo, when it comes to cleaning. With the Aqua Turbo, I got about 2/3 cleaning of our kidney shaped pool. The Triton gets all but one two foot corner. That I clean using the remote control with one sweep. And, it only runs for a couple of hours to accomplish a complete cleaning. i ran the Aqua Turbo for eight hours to accomplish the 2/3 cleaning. The only downside that I have found is that the filters that come with the unit have a very small surface area. They function well, but are completely clogged after just one run. They have to be cleaned every day, and this is before there is any pollen being dropped into the pool. I have ordered the bag... 5/5 Westcliffe, CO here (Houston, TX) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) great pool cleaner at amazon

0 5/5 robin august (CLAYTON, DE, US) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This is the BEST investment for our pool EVER !!!!!! this gets the pool spotless. I have a irregularly shaped rounded pool ( blue lagoon) and it gets ever inch- EXCEPT it cannot get up the steps. it goes up the walls to waterline. we have a 19x39 pool , about 15,000 gallons and it takes about 3 hours for a sparkling clean pool.i have now had this pool cleaner for a season and the only negative i have with it, is the cheap construction of the rack that it sits on . it is made of plastic and very flimsy, the screws keep coming out also. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 29, 2012

Pool Rover Above Ground Pool Vac

The Pool Rover is the third and definitely the last automatic vacuum I will ever own. I previously owned the Aqua Critter by Hayward and the Great White by StaRite. The other 2 never completely cleaned my pool and I always ended up having to manually vacuum all the spots they missed. The other draw back to these 2 vacs is that they have to be hooked up to your skimmer to work and because of that the skimmer obviously is out of use during the entire vacuuming time. They also end up clogging your filter with dirt and leaves which forces you to have clean your filter very frequently. The Pool Rover works independently of your filter and skimmer. It comes with a small electrical box that you plug in and gets its power from that. It has a cloth filter bag that collects all the dirt and debris. The bag is reuseable, I have had mine for 3 years now and it is still like new. All you have to do is remove the bag and rinse it out with your garden hose. A few times a year I... 5/5 Debbie (Fairfield, CT) - See all my reviews = Durability:, September 15, 2009

very good cleaner and a time saver

I will no repeat the specifications that you can read above, except to say that this particular model is confusing as to whether it can be used in ground pool as well as an above ground pool. I have an in ground pool and it worked fine. It was able to climb up the wall quite a bit.I have a mango shape in ground pool, about 26 feet long, with a deep and a shallow end. I put the rover in the pool after I made sure the air was out (first dip in the pool upside down). It sank fine to the bottom, and yet felt light when you tugged on the power cord (make sure not to pull it out of the water by using the power cord). I turned on the external power supply/timer and was surprised to see it move fast on the pool's floor. The timer sets how long it travels in one direction before reversing again. You will have to fine tune this so that the rover cleans the whole pool. Make it too short, and you will find that the rover stays cleaning one area only (prefers to stay in the... 5/5 A.
