So I was very excited to use the Oreck Steam It. I used it 4 times and something came loose in the connection between the water tank and the steam generator. Maybe it is just a screw so I called the 1-800 service number for Oreck. They told me to bring it to the nearby service center. So I did. Here's some interesting news. Even though the machine comes with a one year manufacturer's warranty, it is not warrantied through the manufacturer. What the what? If it is bought through Amazon, you have to go through Amazon. They were nice enough to take the machine in and see if it is something simple but if it requires a part or replacement, I will have to box it up and send it back to Amazon who will then presumably send it back to the service center. None of this information is included on the Amazon site. Another thing they told me, NEVER EVER use tap water. Unless your water is pristine with no minerals, only use distilled water. The main description on the Amazon page says uses tap... 3/5 KDG (Louisiana) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Oreck Steam-It (Misc.) Exceeds all expectations

My primary reason for getting a steam cleaner was dirty grout joints in white tile floors. The grout was close to the color of the tile when we built the house, but unbeknowst to us, the joints were never sealed after installation. This was 7 years ago and inspite of my attempts to clean them, they became dark grey in traffic areas. I first bought a Shark after it was recommended to me by a friend. One use and it went back to the store. At that point I started researching the different brands of steam cleaners and settled on an Oreck Steam It. It arrived yesterday and today I decided to give it a try without too much in the way of expectations. Was I ever pleasantly surprised. After spending about 45 minutes using the grout brush in my guest bathroom, I have white grout joints and the floor looks like brand new. Our house is entirely hardwood and tile and I cant wait to do my other bathrooms and the hardwood floors. I dont usually write reviews but it was because of the... 5/5 P. I Got a Defective One and I'm Still Giving Five Stars!!!

I purchased the Oreck because it had less bad reviews than any of the other models listed. Unfortunately, I got one of the lemons that are in the 1 star reviews. I had it for just over a month and abolutely fell in love with it. Then it quit producing steam--what a bummer! I contacted Amazon, and they were willing to take it back despite it being over their 30 day return policy. I opted to contact Oreck as I figured going through Amazon would be the round-about way. Oreck was nothing but pleasant and accomodating. They promptly sent out a UPS shipping label. I sent the defective model out and didn't expect to see a replacement for at least a month. It was literally less than 2 weeks when I received a totally new one. What a pleasant surprise! I assumed they would just repair my old one! A word of advice for all Oreck users and potential buyers: Oreck customer service asked if I used distilled water in it. I hadn't. Nowhere in their instructions does it say to use distilled... 5/5 jj8429 - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Oreck Steam-It (Misc.) Finally ... a Vacuum Cleaning System Worth the Money

First, a disclaimer of sorts .... I'm a long-term, died-in-the-wool Hoover evangelist. No, I don't work for Hoover, but I've always used them religiously for over 30 years. I've tried switching off to other top-of-the-line brands (Oreck, Eureka, Kenmore, etc.), but I always return to Hoover for their unsurpassed cleaning power and reliability. That does not, however, mean they were perfect.* The Hoover WindTunnel U6439 bagged upright that I've had for the last several years would suck up a Buick. Unfortunately, it also rivaled a Buick in the weight category. Although it's supposedly a "self-propelled" model, I felt like I had to go into training in order to vacuum my house. It became something I would put off because I wasn't sure I had the strength to wrestle this bulky beast all over my house.* The WindTunnel controls which allow you to change the brush height from carpet to floor were manual, hard-to-move levers on the brush housing which... 5/5 Jan Schroeder (Denver, CO) - See all my reviews This review is from: Hoover Platinum Collection Lightweight Bagged Upright with Canister, UH30010COM (Kitchen) First, a disclaimer of sorts .... Can the canister - Not your best Hoover

We read the overwhelming positive reviews and decided, with confidence, to buy our first nice vacuum. We were extremely pleased with the upright vacuum. It's lightweight just as others had promised. It sucked up everything and even felt cool to operate. Huge bag, nice filtration, excellent light and comfortable design. We were pleased! Then came time to vacuum the hardwood, linoleum and stairs. I took out the "handy" shoulder-strapped canister, placed the floor tip on and went to work. OUCH!!! This thing is so loud and bulky. The motor whines with a loud high pitch when tools are on and it only does an average job of sucking up our normal dust and dirt. The on-board tools fall out every time you pick up the canister and there's no cord rewind at all. Just the cord. (No hooks & no rewind option) The Hepa bag is tiny and fills immediately. The replacement bags aren't cheap either. No way would I put up with this. We're normal people that require a versatile... 3/5 Samary (Colorado) - See all my reviews This review is from: Hoover Platinum Collection Lightweight Bagged Upright with Canister, UH30010COM (Kitchen) We read the overwhelming positive reviews and decided, with confidence, to buy our first nice vacuum. Oreck Commercial 437054 Lambs Wool Bonnet Orbiter Pad Works best when used on a smooth stone, wood or vinyl floor surface.

If you want the best possible shine on your tile or stone floors this Oreck Commercial 437054 Lambs Wool Bonnet Orbiter Padis the one to buy. Only problem is if your tile floors are not perfectly even the highs and lows in the floor can catch the pad eventually tearing it up. This is a strong well made pad but some stone is almost razor sharp. If high corner of a stone tile catches the pad just right it can rip the material. I have a limestone floor that was installed by people who did not take care to eliminate the peeks and valleys in the stone floor. In my limestone floors stone tiles can catch your feet if you drag them as I must due to my cerebral palsy. Just as some tiles catch my dragging feet they also can catch the spinning pad ripping it up over time. I was able to polish my limestone floors carefully but, found it better to use a red pollisher pad that was more durable but gave a lesser qaulity shine.I had a granite floor properly installed in my bedroom... 5/5 THE AUTISTIC WEREWOLF "Wolf" (Baltimore County, Maryland USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Oreck Commercial 437054 Lambs Wool Bonnet Orbiter Pad, For ORB550MC Orbiter Floor Machine (Misc.) 0 2/5 Amazon lover - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Oreck Orbiter Hardwood Floor Value Kit (Misc.) I love my Oreck multi purpose floor buffer but the hardwood floor kit was not so great. I used it on my high gloss laminate floor and it left a hazy residue and swirl marks. I had to attach a new bonnet to the machine and go over the floor again to remove the haze and swirl marks.I also have real hardwood floors with virtually no shine - I haven't used it on that floor yet but I'm hoping for better results. In all fairness I think my high gloss laminate floor just needs a dry buff versus a deep clean. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , October 5, 2012

Cheapest option. Works great and covers 100 sq.ft.+ per bottle. Highly recommended!

Of course, if you have an Oreck hot-water carpet cleaner, you have no choice but to use this product. That said, it has always worked well for me. Recently our dog was in her last days and had issues with bowel control. Our living room rug was devastated with stains left by her liquids, and we had guests coming to stay with us. With no time to rent a steam cleaner or contract with a rug-cleaning company, I used our Oreck to do our entire 500 sq. ft. living room. The shampoo worked beautifully, as always, and left a nice fresh fragrance that, after a day or two, was not overwhelming. In the past we have used this product for spot treatment only, so I had no idea of the coverage one bottle gave. Being quite liberal with it's use, I used 4 1/2 bottles to do the entire 500 sq.ft. area. Although this translates to about 100 sq.ft./bottle, it would be much higher for general light shampooing without the multiple, heavy and dark stains that we had. Though I appreciate the two previous reviewers giving so much detail, I truly believe they exaggerate the difficulties of using this product.Overall, this is a "great" product. You will pay a little more because it is an Oreck, but quality construction, reliability, and the fact Oreck stands behind their products make the extra few dollars worth it.My reason for purchasing a steam cleaner was to clean stone and tile floors, "especially" the grout. Frankly, this unit does such an amazing job with this, if it did nothing else well, I would still be happy. I will no longer have to waste time and money on "very" expensive grout cleaners and sealers that do not work. Trust me, the Oreck get's grout and tile as clean as the day you had them installed. Not Ready For Prime Time

Let me start by saying that I am a huge Oreck fan. I think that they make quality products that do what they say they do. However, I can't say that this product measures up. They are on the right track but have several details to work out yet. I already own a Shark steam mop but find the handle to be a little short (I am tall) and it doesn't hold enough water to do my whole kitchen area with one fill. I was quite excited to hear that Oreck had a steam mop. I went to the Oreck store and got a demo. I commented then that the 'pad' was loose and coming off while he mopped, and that the head of the mop was being uncooperative during the carpet refresh demo. He made excuses for all so I bought the steam mop. The mop holds about a gallon of water, and has a very tall handle and a long cord. All good things. The quality and construction are excellent. However, the first thing you notice is that it weighs more than your vaccuum. The pad is actually a piece of cotton duck fabric... 2/5 TechDiva (Brookfield WI) - See all my reviews Let me start by saying that I am a huge Oreck fan. With reasonable expectations, this is a good product

I've had this product a few days and used it on the kitchen floor, the bathroom floor, the bathroom sinks, the shower stall, the toilet, and a plastic step stool in the kitchen. So far, so good. I read all the negative comments and was sort of afraid to try this product. However, with a 30-day return policy, I figured I might as well give it a try.The Steam-It holds a good amount of water, produces the appropriate amount of steam, and is not too heavy when lifting the item above your head.It could use a longer and lighter cord. (This heavy cord makes me wonder how much electricity this mop really uses--must be a lot!) This item needs more pads included. When cleaning dirty surfaces, or expecting to do more than one item or room a day, two pads will not last any amount of time. I bought some microfiber cloths at another retailer to have enough for my cleaning projects. They worked okay, but I'd rather have more pads. The pads also shrink significantly,... 3/5 kaci (the sun) - See all my reviews I've had this product a few days and used it on the kitchen floor, the bathroom floor, the bathroom sinks, the shower stall, the toilet, and a plastic step stool in the kitchen. Best Machine for the money

0 5/5 Glenn Harris - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Panasonic MC-CL485 Bagless "Suction" Canister Vacuum Cleaner (Kitchen) I own one of the largest Residential Cleaning Services in my State. I use this machine exclusively for my hard floor areas. I found that the suction is terrific and is equal to machines that cost hundreds more. It is simple to operate. It has no "powerhead", so it is pretty much only a hard surface vacuum. However, I found a hand held turbo attachment that works wonderful with it becaause of the great suction this machine has. It makes the turbo scream with power enough to pick up the worst pet hair on furniture and hard to get areas of carpeting between furniture and walls. I have 20 of these machines, which have lasted a long time, considering that we put 20 times more usage on them than a normal household would. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , March 12, 2010

    it works

0 5/5 Yaron - See all my reviews This review is from: Panasonic MC-CL485 Bagless "Suction" Canister Vacuum Cleaner (Kitchen) I am satisfied with this vacuum. It has a nice design. I like the fact that it's bagless and the filter system seems to be quite effective as the vacuum does not emit an unpleasant smell as I clean. The suction is perfect and the nozzle is very advanced in that it sucks up dust/dirt and sweeps it into the suction area at the same time. All the parts fit together well and don't come off/disconnect in the middle of vacuuming. It works great on parquet and low carpets. The only setback is a short retractable cord (probably standard for a lot of vacuums). 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , January 10, 2009

    Caution advised

0 3/5 Brian S - See all my reviews I have owned this vacuum for a few months. It is light and compact and generally easy to use.I liked the bag less function, but it loses power quickly as the canister fills.....I empty the canister a few times each time I vacuum th house....This would be ok for a small apartment, but it is not really suitable for large rooms....cord is too short.Panasonic products have been generally good.I wish Panasonic had spent more on the hose....it is thin plastic which kinks easily and you suddenly have a clog. The attachments fall off when cleaning soft furniture and drapes (I finally duct taped the brush on to the end piece). I guess I would buy another brand next time.I hope this review is helpful.
