    This thing sucks

I got this vacuum for thirty bucks so keep that in mind. There are units out there that cost ten times that. So how does the Dynamite Plus stack up? It sucks! Very, very well. I don't think I have ever used a vaccum that had such powerful suction. I bought a Dirt Devil cordless unit (the one that no one seems to like) about a year ago and it was garbage. I wondered if anyone really needed cordless while in the confines of their own home. Most likely not. Why not trade the dubious benefits of cordless for maximum sucking power? For the price there is proably no vacuum made that is more powerful. So why only 4 stars? Despite a vacuum that seems well built, convenient, light, bagless, portable, etc., there is one thing that is insanely ridiculous about the Dynamite Plus' design. All of that powerful suckiing power shoots right out a front grill of the vacuum. Like a tornado!!!! The first time I used it was in the kitchen it it literally blew all of the photos and notes off my... 4/5 PhotoGraphics (Arizona) - See all my reviews, December 6, 2007

    Small and powerful

I was looking for a small, powerful and inexpensive vacuum cleaner, and this is EXACTLY what I got with Dirt Devil Dynamite. I was looking to replace my old stick-type vacuum cleaner which was okay for hardwood, but just too weak to pick up anything from carpet.I already have a fairly large carpet steamer which I regularly use. I didn't want another clunky machine to take up very expensive square footage in my house. I also paid quite a bit for that steamer, so I didn't want to shell out for a vacuum as well. However, I did want a vacuum cleaner with some power to it.1) SMALL: The first thing that caught be by surprise is how remarkably small this vacuum cleaner is. I think the lady in the picture is rather short because the canister part hardly even reaches my kneecaps! Size-wise it almost looks like a child's toy!2) ASSEMBLY: There's virtually no assembly required. Just snap in the handle and it's good to go.3) POWERFUL: It picked up... 5/5 Ena (Chicago, USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus Bagless Upright Vacuum with Tools, M084650RED (Kitchen) Haven't had the unit long enough to be very critical. The unit is only 7 amps but seems to pick up dirt like a 10 amp, lots of power to work the brush's and suck up the dirt. So far it seems to be a good value for the money.**** CAUTION:Amazon recommended purchasing replacementbelt and filter with the Dynamite vaccum except that they recommended the WRONG belt and filter. Having not purchased the Dynamite before I went with what Amazon recommended which turned out to be the F-12 belt and F-1 Hepa Filter which are incorrect. The Dynamite vaccum uses a F-15 belt and a F-2 Hepa Filter so be very careful to order the correct belt and filter if you decide to order this vaccum...do not rely on Amazon's recommendations or their customer service. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 23, 2011

    Works for me!

We struggled between buying this unit and the comperable Dirt Devil offering, when we saw them at the local discount stores. Liking the stiffer dual-rotating beater-bar style brushes on the Bissell better than the much softer brushes on the spinning disk the Dirt Devil had, we settled on the Bissell. At the store, the only negative factor for the Bissell appeared to be it's one-year warranty, versus the two-years offered with the Dirt Devil. We did not consider a cordless model, presuming they would be less powerful. We also did not consider a model without scrub brushes.I used our new Bissell briefly last night on a couple of recent pet stains, and it did a good job. Today, I used it on all the rest of the pet stains on our light living room carpet, many of which were old. Almost all of them lifted well. The Bissell clean tank will hold a full 8 oz. (3-4 oz. cleaning product and 4 oz. water), compared to the Dirt Devil that only holds a total of 6 oz. One powerful little cleaner

0 5/5 Samantha Rupinski (Oconomowoc, WI) - See all my reviews This review is from: BISSELL Spotlifter Powerbrush Handheld Deep Cleaner, 1716B (Kitchen) I have mostly hardwood in my home, but I do have a little bit of carpet, so I bought one of these for the small spots and spills. I have 3 kids and 2 dogs, so it seems that accidents are a daily occurence. I used this Spotlifter on some old pop stains that have been on the carpet for months, and it got them out no problem. I couldn't believe how well it worked and how dirty the water was that came out of my carpet. It worked so well that I decied to try it on my couch and chair, and it did a great job on them as well. Next stop was my car's interior, which was no small feat. It made my 6 year old minivan look and smell almost new. Buying this Spotlifter was definitely money well spent. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 3, 2003

    Surpisingly good machinefor the money

I nearly didn't buy the Spotlifter after reading all the negative reviews but I'm really glad I did. We have four cats and it's a constant chore keeping up with upchucked hairballs and food.Several of the positive reviews came from people with multiple cats and dogs so I decided to try it out. It arrived today and in less than an hour, I not only picked up a room full of new spots but also the stains left from previously cleaned older spots. I did not buy the Pet cleaning solution offered as an option and just used the solution that came with the machine. I selected the Spotlifter with the cord because, while I like the convenience of a cordless machine, the 15-minute run time before requiring a charge would not cut it with four cats to keep up with. It would be great for a one or two cat household. As to some of the complaints in the negative reviews, I found most of them to be either the result of not using common sense or failing to read the instructions... 5/5 Lental (Tallahassee, FL USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Great Product!

I purchased this product to help with the daily cleanup of pet hair on my tile floors. I researched several similar vacuums, but this one seemed to have all that I needed. The price was right, online reviews were good, and it meet all my criteria - cordless, upright and rechargeable. The product was easy to assemble. Handle is easy to attach and remove, filter is easy to empty and clean, and the vacuum attaches to the charger easily. The instructions said to charge for 14-16 hours before first use. It had charged about 20 hours before I first used it. It worked for about 5 minutes and then quit. I decided to let it charge longer. I kept it on the charger for 48 hours (just to be sure it was fully charged). I started it up again and WOW! It worked like a charm. The vacuum quickly cleaned up dirt & crumbs along with all the dust bunnies of hair from my multiple pets. It was easy to maneuver around the floor, chairs, and sofa. Here's the nitty gritty!

I have a love/hate relationship with this vacuum cleaner. There are great things about it, and horrible things about it. I will break them both down for you but first I will tell you a little about my home. It is about 2300Sq ft. It has 3 most common floor times. Hardwood, tile, and plush carpet. I bought this vacuum for my new home because it was appealing on many levels. It was small, lightweight and cordless. The Pros: This vacuum is small, lightweight, and cordless. It is easy to assemble and virtually goes anywhere! It's a lot quieter than a traditional vacuum cleaner. Heck it's so small and compact even my toddler enjoys using it (Woohoo!). It is also pretty easy to empty! The Cons: The battery life only allows me to vacuum about 2-3 rooms at a time on a full charge, and about 1 room on a partial charge. The suction isn't the greatest, and you can FORGET picking up anything that isn't dust or hair. It has trouble vacuuming up anything dime sized or bigger... 3/5 Jennifer - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) Be careful not to mix-up filters for 1800 and 1810 models

Customer Video Review Length:: 0:08 MinsPVF110 is a filter for the new PHV1810 model of Black & Decker Pivot Vac 18V Cordless Pivoting Hand Vac.These filters are slightly different from the previous popular model PHV1800 (which took PVF100).The filters are easy to remove and they are washable. I typically remove one, wash it, and while it dries install another filter.A friend of mine has PHV 1800 and I was hoping to buy the same model so we can share the filters my friend bought in bulk. However by the time I got around to buying the vacuum, 1800 was not available, and 1800 filters do not fit 1810 model. Not surprisingly, as B&D wants to sell more filters for the new model.Be careful when you buy replacement filters, as there are still lots of filters for PHV 1800 on the market.Note: there is a typo in the title of the product. Black&Decker does not have a model number PHV18180, it should have been PHV1810. I contacted the seller to let them know... 5/5 Ali Julia (boston, mass) - See all my reviews, January 16, 2011

This review is from: Black and Decker PVF110 Filter for PHV1810 Pivot Vac (Misc.) These filters are effective in helping to allow you to use the B &D vac for almost any small debris pick up. They are easy to install. The only drawback is the difficulty cleaning. You can use these for a long time with cleaning when necessary. If you only have one, it may be inconvenient. Cleaning properly means taking it apart( very easy, no screws) and brushing pieces out of the fins on the filter. You then wash it in warm soapy water and let it dry. This can take 24-36 hours which is the penalty for not having two. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , April 5, 2014

no smell has to mean it is getting the job done right

I purchased this about three weeks ago along with a new puppy. Those of you who know about potty training a puppy can imagine how happy I am to have the spot scrubber. I use it so much I don't even unplug it from the wall. I only have two complaints for the spot scrubber though. First of all, the cleaning solution tank does not hold enough. I can fill it 4 times before the dirty water creeps just under the full line in the dirty water tank. My solution to this problem is to just tote one of those generic household cleaner spray bottles with the cleaning water mixture in it around with the spot scrubber. My second complaint is that the exhaust smells just like whatever you just vaccumed up. So, if you don't clean the dirty water tank EVERY TIME you use it :( , well let's just say it's not aromatherapy. As far as performance, it is very powerful because it is a plug in model versus a cordless. Every spot I have cleaned on my carpet turned out SO clean I have had to go over that... 4/5 0, December 21, 2001

    Great, misunderstood machine

Looking at a number of previous reviews, I'd like to clarify a few points:* It's not a carpet cleaner, it's a _spot scrubber_. Anyone purchasing a machine with a single brush who expects to clean whole sections of carpet deserves all the self-inflicted frustration they've expressed here. My father-in-law tried to use our scrubber to clean his entire entryway. His verdict: "The thing is worthless." My wife and I just roll our eyes.* The spray nozzle shoots out lots of solution in a narrow, focused pattern, perfect for treating _spots_. It takes only a few pumps. The image of someone stalking around a room trying to spray anything more than about 20 inches square (again, anything more than a _spot_) is just painful.* The thing sucks strongly enough to fill the dirty water reservoir. I suspect that some folks haven't cracked the manual or noticed the yellow knob to switch between scrubbing and suction. All that said, I hate to think of living without this... 4/5 0, March 30, 2004

    Good value

The Mighty Mite is a decent vacuum cleaner, especially for the money. I've been through 3 vacuums in 2 years, and I know junk when I see it now. And, for the most part, the Mighty Mite isn't junk.Pros: It is very lightweight, has good reach with the telescoping pole, decent suction, and the pet hair attachment seems to work fine on my sofa and rugs. The HEPA filter is a definite plus and my hope is that the quantity of house dust will be seriously lowered. It is easy to move, but could use a longer cord than 20 ft.Cons: The instructions don't even MENTION the pet hair attachment! The only references are on the box it comes in. The suction is adjusted by a rotating ring on the handle, exactly where you hand goes. So, if you accidentally move it to a more closed position while your hand is there, your skin gets sucked in with it. All the attachments do NOT go on the canister. There is provision for one small attachment and the crevice tool onboard... 3/5 Richard Rankin (Missouri) - See all my reviews, April 15, 2009

I bought this as replacement for our 10 year old original Mighty. My husband refused to throw it out even tho it had no wheels, the hose was entirely duct taped, the handle was screwed into the hose and clamped, and you had to talk softly to it to get it to turn on...It was pitiful to see but it still worked and had massive power. Whoever designed this product was apparently a hateful, vengeful person who secretly wants to ruin the day of housewives everywhere. Some of my favorite features of this product are:When you are cleaning up a disgusting spot of something, this device will randomly spew the dirty water out of the side vents, usually all over your legs as you are crouched over the spot trying to remove it. This happens when the product has a bare tablespoon of dirty water. Would it have been so hard to, I don't know, make the holding tank big enough to hold the dirty water? Or maybe make it where, when slightly full, the dirty water goes ANYWHERE other than on you and your house? Have you ever smelled hot dog urine water that has been steamed out of a vent? That smell will stay in your house for MONTHS, and no amount of spot scrubbing will help. The scrub brush is pretty much useless, it kind of scrubs the spot,... 1/5 India M. MamaN

This is going back! Pros: price is reasonable, easy to figure out and assemble, good suction -- most of the water is removed from carpet. Cons: extremely noisy; parts are difficult to disassemble -- knobs are too small on screw tops while click-on parts stick and it's difficult to get a grip anywhere because of the design, knob on dirty tank is very difficult to open and close, wet or dry; brush seems useless -- most of the scrubbing action comes from manually moving the machine back and forth over the spot; sprayer never did work right no matter how long I held it down; difficult to clean afterward -- one has to remove screws to run water through the suction nozzle, the brush is attached so one must run water over the end of the machine to clean it easily; and finally, I got sprayed with puppy poop water which came out the air flow "out" vent, probably because I moved the machine too vigorously or it got too full (I hadn't used all the allowed solution in the first tank) -- the... 1/5 MamaN (Greenfield, IN USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Dirt Devil Spot Scrubber (Kitchen) This is going back! Works well but you have to know how to use it...

This is my second hand held spot cleaner. It works and works well, but you have to understand how to use it (I made this disclaimer because I read the first few reviews which were all negative). Certainly there are pros and cons to this cleaner, but read on...Pros:1) Powerful, that's why it's so noisy, or vice versa. The description says it's the industry's most powerful "Hand-Held Extractor". I don't know on what basis they make that claim, but it is certainly powerful.2) The scrubber does work but you have to be patient and you don't have to use a lot of strength or force. You just need to put it right at the spot and keep it there and move it gently. If you look at it sideways you can see it's doing it's job. Because the scrubber only rotates one way I do it at a 90% angle as well to make sure it hits the stain at a different angle.Cons:1) Noisy (cf. powerful above). I don't know if a powerful vacuum can be made quiet, but part of the... 4/5 John B. Goode "JBG" (Earth) - See all my reviews, September 18, 2011

    Better than hands and knees!

I have had the Thane H20 Mop Ultra for several months and have used it at least once a week, sometimes more, since we purchased it. I have not had the problems that some of the other reviewers have had. It did puddle a little the first time I used it, but the instructions say to expect that. It has not done that again. It cleans the floor very well and if there is something really stuck on, I go over it a few times and it comes up. Here are the pros, cons, and suggestions for use:Pros:No chemicalsWith comfort taken into consideration, better than hands and knees cleaning (which was previously my preferred method because it cleans better than any mop)Doesn't take very long to clean my kitchen floorCons:The microfiber cloths come off if they get too wetYou have to move rather quickly to prevent the heads from getting too wetYou have to have the mop head at an angle or else it comes off the floor when you're pulling it back... 4/5 sb2003 - See all my reviews This review is from: H20 3-in-1 Ultra Steam Mop (Kitchen) I have had the Thane H20 Mop Ultra for several months and have used it at least once a week, sometimes more, since we purchased it. HORRIBLE MOP - BEWARE!

I have never written a review before, but I felt I had to with this one! I bought this mop 2 years ago and have only used it a few times because every time I try it I get frusterated all over again. I have been on the search for the best mop out there and this seemed to be the answer - WRONG!! The pad doesn't stay on the machine, it slides right off each time I use it. My husband has tried tightening it several different ways, but each time after a few minutes it slides off again. Plus when you go to put it back on it's HOT because of the steam. It takes SO much longer to mop my floor with this mop. Now when it works, it does a pretty good job, but you have to hold it in place for at least 15 seconds on hard spots to get them clean. The cord is constantly getting in the way as well. I do like the hand held steamer to clean other things, so that is why I kept it, but now after having it 2 years and only using it a handful of times, the steam stopped working!! SERIOUSLY!!! I am... 1/5 sr - See all my reviews This review is from: H20 3-in-1 Ultra Steam Mop (Kitchen) I have never written a review before, but I felt I had to with this one! THANE ARE CROOKS!!

I ordered the mop for my wife directly from their website, but no one will see my review there. I am sure they will just remove it. Anyways, I will start by saying this mop is the biggest piece of junk ever made! It is not at all user friendly. Of course since it is a mop that is what we tried first, using it as the mop. It stuck to the floor, didn't clean anything and just kept puddling. I tried to turn it off and to no avail it stayed on. I am all about second chances so I tried it in the shower, did absolutely nothing but pull the sealant out of the cracks in the tile. The worst part is that I went to return it and they told me I was going to be out shipping and handling which was over $40. I got my return number and sent it back. The return postage cost me $25 to be back. I paid about $170 for this thing and lost $65 on postage. I would not recommend this product to anyone. If you buy it after readiung this review, you are crazy! I am not exaggerating at all. You have been... 1/5 Jeffrey M. Vernocke "Jeff Vernocke" (Port Huron, MI) - See all my reviews, June 10, 2010
