    Small and powerful

I was looking for a small, powerful and inexpensive vacuum cleaner, and this is EXACTLY what I got with Dirt Devil Dynamite. I was looking to replace my old stick-type vacuum cleaner which was okay for hardwood, but just too weak to pick up anything from carpet.I already have a fairly large carpet steamer which I regularly use. I didn't want another clunky machine to take up very expensive square footage in my house. I also paid quite a bit for that steamer, so I didn't want to shell out for a vacuum as well. However, I did want a vacuum cleaner with some power to it.1) SMALL: The first thing that caught be by surprise is how remarkably small this vacuum cleaner is. I think the lady in the picture is rather short because the canister part hardly even reaches my kneecaps! Size-wise it almost looks like a child's toy!2) ASSEMBLY: There's virtually no assembly required. Just snap in the handle and it's good to go.3) POWERFUL: It picked up... 5/5 Ena (Chicago, USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This thing sucks

I got this vacuum for thirty bucks so keep that in mind. There are units out there that cost ten times that. So how does the Dynamite Plus stack up? It sucks! Very, very well. I don't think I have ever used a vaccum that had such powerful suction. I bought a Dirt Devil cordless unit (the one that no one seems to like) about a year ago and it was garbage. I wondered if anyone really needed cordless while in the confines of their own home. Most likely not. Why not trade the dubious benefits of cordless for maximum sucking power? For the price there is proably no vacuum made that is more powerful. So why only 4 stars? Despite a vacuum that seems well built, convenient, light, bagless, portable, etc., there is one thing that is insanely ridiculous about the Dynamite Plus' design. All of that powerful suckiing power shoots right out a front grill of the vacuum. Like a tornado!!!! The first time I used it was in the kitchen it it literally blew all of the photos and notes off my... 4/5 PhotoGraphics (Southwest U.S.) - See all my reviews, December 6, 2007

0 4/5 usgabear - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: Dirt Devil Dynamite Plus Bagless Upright Vacuum with Tools, M084650RED (Kitchen) Haven't had the unit long enough to be very critical. The unit is only 7 amps but seems to pick up dirt like a 10 amp, lots of power to work the brush's and suck up the dirt. So far it seems to be a good value for the money.**** CAUTION:Amazon recommended purchasing replacementbelt and filter with the Dynamite vaccum except that they recommended the WRONG belt and filter. Having not purchased the Dynamite before I went with what Amazon recommended which turned out to be the F-12 belt and F-1 Hepa Filter which are incorrect. The Dynamite vaccum uses a F-15 belt and a F-2 Hepa Filter so be very careful to order the correct belt and filter if you decide to order this vaccum...do not rely on Amazon's recommendations or their customer service. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 23, 2011

    Got Stains?

I got the Dirt Devil Spot Scrubber for a gift at christmas and with two dog I thougtht this thing will really be handy. I have Two Border Collies they are Seven and Three so they are past the potty training, but the sopts from when they were potty training are still there. So the next day after I got it I decided to find a big old spot and man was I suprised at how well it got it out and how dry it was.Pros1.Corded for continuous power2. Rotating Brush is good at scrubbing but gentle Enough not to ruin the rugs.3.powerful suction4. good cord lengthCons1.Dirty water bin takes long to dry word of advice(shake it after rinsing leave near heater with end cap off)Thats it for the consNow I will tell you about my experience with different cleaners. My first one was the hoover steam vac with the brushes. It ruined my carpets the rotating brushes unwind the threads in the rug leaving it looking matted down. The next machine I used was... 5/5 India M. Whitehead "EmpressGeek" (Lawton, OK USA) - See all my reviews, January 6, 2002

    Product Nightmare

Oh, how I wish I had checked reviews before I bought this product! Whoever designed this product was apparently a hateful, vengeful person who secretly wants to ruin the day of housewives everywhere. Some of my favorite features of this product are:When you are cleaning up a disgusting spot of something, this device will randomly spew the dirty water out of the side vents, usually all over your legs as you are crouched over the spot trying to remove it. This happens when the product has a bare tablespoon of dirty water. Would it have been so hard to, I don't know, make the holding tank big enough to hold the dirty water? Or maybe make it where, when slightly full, the dirty water goes ANYWHERE other than on you and your house? Have you ever smelled hot dog urine water that has been steamed out of a vent? That smell will stay in your house for MONTHS, and no amount of spot scrubbing will help. The scrub brush is pretty much useless, it kind of scrubs the spot,... 1/5 Philip Davis (Silicon Valley, USA) - See all my reviews, May 25, 2008

    Great, misunderstood machine

Looking at a number of previous reviews, I'd like to clarify a few points:* It's not a carpet cleaner, it's a _spot scrubber_. Anyone purchasing a machine with a single brush who expects to clean whole sections of carpet deserves all the self-inflicted frustration they've expressed here. My father-in-law tried to use our scrubber to clean his entire entryway. His verdict: "The thing is worthless." My wife and I just roll our eyes.* The spray nozzle shoots out lots of solution in a narrow, focused pattern, perfect for treating _spots_. It takes only a few pumps. The image of someone stalking around a room trying to spray anything more than about 20 inches square (again, anything more than a _spot_) is just painful.* The thing sucks strongly enough to fill the dirty water reservoir. I suspect that some folks haven't cracked the manual or noticed the yellow knob to switch between scrubbing and suction. All that said, I hate to think of living without this... 4/5 0, March 30, 2004

    Works for me!

We struggled between buying this unit and the comperable Dirt Devil offering, when we saw them at the local discount stores. Liking the stiffer dual-rotating beater-bar style brushes on the Bissell better than the much softer brushes on the spinning disk the Dirt Devil had, we settled on the Bissell. At the store, the only negative factor for the Bissell appeared to be it's one-year warranty, versus the two-years offered with the Dirt Devil. We did not consider a cordless model, presuming they would be less powerful. We also did not consider a model without scrub brushes.I used our new Bissell briefly last night on a couple of recent pet stains, and it did a good job. Today, I used it on all the rest of the pet stains on our light living room carpet, many of which were old. Almost all of them lifted well. The Bissell clean tank will hold a full 8 oz. (3-4 oz. cleaning product and 4 oz. water), compared to the Dirt Devil that only holds a total of 6 oz. It does a decent... 4/5 Sandi Hultman "SandiDandi" (Coon Rapids, Minnesota United States) - See all my reviews This review is from: BISSELL Spotlifter Powerbrush Handheld Deep Cleaner, 1716B (Kitchen) We struggled between buying this unit and the comperable Dirt Devil offering, when we saw them at the local discount stores. One powerful little cleaner

0 5/5 Samantha Rupinski (Oconomowoc, WI) - See all my reviews This review is from: BISSELL Spotlifter Powerbrush Handheld Deep Cleaner, 1716B (Kitchen) I have mostly hardwood in my home, but I do have a little bit of carpet, so I bought one of these for the small spots and spills. I have 3 kids and 2 dogs, so it seems that accidents are a daily occurence. I used this Spotlifter on some old pop stains that have been on the carpet for months, and it got them out no problem. I couldn't believe how well it worked and how dirty the water was that came out of my carpet. It worked so well that I decied to try it on my couch and chair, and it did a great job on them as well. Next stop was my car's interior, which was no small feat. It made my 6 year old minivan look and smell almost new. Buying this Spotlifter was definitely money well spent. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , June 3, 2003

    Surpisingly good machinefor the money

I nearly didn't buy the Spotlifter after reading all the negative reviews but I'm really glad I did. We have four cats and it's a constant chore keeping up with upchucked hairballs and food.Several of the positive reviews came from people with multiple cats and dogs so I decided to try it out. It arrived today and in less than an hour, I not only picked up a room full of new spots but also the stains left from previously cleaned older spots. I did not buy the Pet cleaning solution offered as an option and just used the solution that came with the machine. I selected the Spotlifter with the cord because, while I like the convenience of a cordless machine, the 15-minute run time before requiring a charge would not cut it with four cats to keep up with. It would be great for a one or two cat household. As to some of the complaints in the negative reviews, I found most of them to be either the result of not using common sense or failing to read the instructions... 5/5 lental (Tallahassee, FL USA) - See all my reviews Verified Purchase(What's this?) (Upstate NY) - See all my reviews This review is from: BISSELL 2X Pet Stain & Odor Portable Machine Formula, 32 ounces, 74R7 (Kitchen) We have only used this concentrated solution with our Bissell Spotbot Pet. Since the formula container for the Spotbot has markings on the side that tell how much formula to add, and we didn't know a non-concentrated formula had ever been available, we were using twice as much (or more) formula as was needed. This meant we ran out of formula quite quickly! I just finally read the back of the bottle (duh!) and found that you're supposed to add two capfuls to the container and fill with hot water up to the formula line. Oops! So, if you use the concentrated formula, be sure you read the instructions first! While the formula works well, it has a very strong (though pleasant) odor, which might give a sensitive person an allergic reaction. I'd recommend using this product with the windows open for your first time in case that happens to you. 0 Help other customers find the most helpful reviews  Was this review helpful to you? , February 17, 2010
